Release Notes: April

Every month, our development team delivers improvements across the Microkeeper platform.

Some are visible changes, some run quietly in the background, but all of them are aimed at making payroll, rostering and HR admin more accurate and less time-consuming.

Here's what landed in April:

More accurate leave balance estimates

When an employee requests leave, Microkeeper now factors in their contracted hours when calculating the estimated hours. The result is more accurate at the point of request, reducing back-and-forth between employees and managers before leave is approved.

Future-dated employees excluded from pay runs

If a staff member has a future start date, they'll now be automatically excluded from the current pay run, preventing accidental payments before an employee's first day.

We've also added a clearer warning system to support this. The Staff Missing from the Pay Run warning will now only appear on pay runs with a payment date within the last 30 days, which eliminates false positives on historical pay runs. It also won't trigger on ad hoc pay runs.

STP submissions for Tax and BAS agents

If you're a registered Tax or BAS agent managing payroll on behalf of clients, Microkeeper now supports Single Touch Payroll submissions on their behalf. Read our guide on how to set this up.

Roster cloning now warns before overwriting shifts

Cloning a roster over existing shifts will now prompt a warning before anything is overwritten, a small change that prevents a frustrating and easily avoidable mistake.

On a related note, when addnig a new employee a warning will now flag if another employee with the same mobile number or email address already exists in the system.

Report builder improvements

The report builder has received a number of enhancements this month, including new fields, employment duration fixes, and improved duplicate detection when importing via CSV.
