From October 2026, Microkeeper's legacy standard plan is moving to $6 per user per month. If you've received an email about this change, you're in the right place. This post covers everything, what's changing, what's now, why we made this decision, and what it means for your business.

What's changing

Customers currently on Microkeeper's legacy standard pricing will move to the current standard rate of $6 per user per month from their October billing cycle.
Enterprise accouns will be contacted directly by our team to discuss updated pricing based on their size and requirements.
Nothing else about your account is changing. Your settings, your employees, your history, all of it stays exactly as it is.

What's not changing

  • Your data remains stored securely in Australia.
  • Your support team remains onshore: real people, by phone and ticket.
  • Your existing configuration, employees, and payroll history are untouched.
  • Microkeeper remains an all-in-one platform with no add-on costs to unlock core features.

Why we're updating pricing

We've kept legacy customers on their original pricing for years.
That was the right call for a long time, we didn't want to pass on costs before we'd delivered real, tangible improvemenets to the platofrm.

We believe we've now done that. Here's an honest breakdown of what's driven this decision.

1. Payday Super changes everything about how we process payroll

From 1 July 2026, Australian businesses are legally required to ensure super contributions reach employees' funds within 7 business days of every pay run. On average, that's roughly 6.4x more often per month than before. This is a significant change, and processing super end-to-end on every cycle requires infrastructure, transaction costs, compliance tracking, and reconciliation that simply didn't exist before.

Microkeeper now handles all of this through an integrated workflow with Beam. It's built in, it's automatic, and it's compliant. But it carries real cost, and that cost is now part of every pay run we process on your behalf.

2. We've chosen to keep support onshore, and we always will

Our support team is based in Australia. They answer the phone during business hours. They respond to tickets. They understand Australian payroll, awards, and compliance requirements because they live and work here.

Offshoring support is the single biggest cost-reduction lever available to a software company. We've chosen not to pull it up. That decision has a cost, and we've absorbed it for years. It's now reflected, in part, in this pricing update.

3. The platform has been substantially rebuilt

Over the past 18 months, we've made the most significant investment in Microkeeper's platform since it was founded. Here's a summary of what's changed:

  1. Payroll and compliance
    • Next generation payroll engine with improved Award and EBA support
    • Updated ATO tax tables and improved STP reporting
    • Multi-ABN payroll support
    • End-to-end Payday Super workflow
  2. HR and employee experience
    • Enhanced skills management, reviews, and reporting
    • New HR document and forms workflow foundations
    • Redesigned employee console and mobile experience
    • Messaging tool
    • Personal Files builder
  3. Rostering and timesheets
    • Completely rebuillt rostering experience
    • Advanced CSV roster imports
    • Timesheet V2 with improved approvals and payroll syncing
    • Better handling of complex shift scenarios
  4. Integrations and reporting
    • Recruitment integrations with Teamtailor and Manatal
    • Enhanced Xero, Reckon, and Business Central connectivity
    • Improved reporting suite with custom reports
    • Expanded Developer API
  5. Platform and security
    • Improved access controls and permissions
    • Enhanced performance and reliability
    • Better scalability for larger organisations
  6. Coming soon
    • Forms builder

The platform you're on today is not the same platform you signed up for. It's significantly more capable, and the investment required to build and maintain it is significantly higher.

4. Your data stays in Australia

Microkeeper stores all customer data on Australian infrastructure. That's a deliberate choice in an industry where offshoring data storage is common practice. It costs more. We think it's the right call, particularly for businesses handling sensitive employee and payroll data.

5. We haven't changed your pricing since you started

Many of our legacy customers have been with Microkeeper for several years, on pricing that was set when the platform was a fraction of what it is today. We've absorbed years of platform investment, infrastructure upgrades, and compliance changes without adjusting legacy rates. This update relfects reality of where the platform is now.

How does Microkeeper compare to the alternatives

We understand that a price increase makes people look at alternatives. We think that's fair, and we're confident in what you'll find.

At $6 per user per month (for Standard accounts), Microkeeper includes payroll, HR, rostering, timesheets, leave management, compliance toools, onboarding, and document management, with no add-on costs to unlock core features, and Australian-based support included.

What you need to do

Nothing. Your account will update automatically from your bill generated on October. You'll receive confirmation of the change via email.

If you have any questions about your specific account, your current plan, or your October bill, please contact our support team.

A final note

We don't take pricing changes lightly. We know this update will prompt questions, and we've tried to answer them as honestly as we can in this post.

What we can tell you is this: every dollar of this increase is going back into the platform, the support team, and the infrastructure that keeps your data safe. That's been true of every decision we've made since Microkeeper was founded and it won't change.

Thank you for being a Microkeeper customer.
