New and Improved Leave Request and Review Tools

Managing leave should be simple for both employees and managers. That's why we've redesigned our Leave Request and Leave Review tools to deliver a smoother, more intuitive experience on both sides.

This update introduces a steeamlined flow for employees, completely reworked review experience for managers, and a new central dashboard to help you stay on top of pending leave requests.

What's new for employees: a streamlined leave request flow

Submitting a leave request is now faster and clearer than ever.

  • New UI: a regreshed look makes it easy to select your dates and submit a request without extra steps.
  • Automatic calculations: no more manually entering hours. The platform now calculates the correct number of hours off, based on the dates you choose.
  • Contracted hours integration: as long as contracted hours are set in your account settings, the system does all the work for you.

These updates reduce erros, save time and simplofy the process for employees.

What's new for managers: a smarter leave review page

We've completely redesigned the Leave Review exeprience for managers, breaking it into three easy tabs:

Request details

  1. Clear breakdown of days off and total paid hours from contracted hours.
  2. New feature: managers can isntantly see the exact hours affected, making it easier to spot inconsistencies or issues.

Roster Overlap

  1. Visual display of leave overlapping with the roster.
  2. Quickly see who else is on leave at the same time to avoid understaffing or scheduling clashes.

Past leave

  1. A complete history of previous requests, with clear status tracking.
  2. Helpful for identifying patterns or checking past decisions.

All through the review process, the current leave request stays pinned at the top, so you always know exactly what you're reviewing.

A new main page for leave review

To give managers better oversight, we've added a dedicated Leave Review landing page:

  • Pending request summary: instantly see how many requests are waiting for review.
  • Staff off graphic: a visual overview of staff availability across a selected period.
  • Quick access list: view and jump directly into specific requests without navigating through multiple menus.

This main page gives you a big-picture view of leave across your team, with the ability to dive into the details in just one click.
